What you receive.
Everything The Family Handover Kit contains, plus three things built specifically for the household you named at intake. Every letter is addressed to the right department, checked by a person, and ready for a signature — you post them yourself. Where they owned their home, the register also carries the Property Position: the lender, where the deeds are, and which land registration step applies.
One per bank, insurer and pension — never a shared template.
Each letter is addressed to the institution's own bereavement team and ready to sign. Prepared ahead, it is left undated for your family to date and sign. No account numbers or passwords — last four digits only.
One per institution, so nothing gets lost in the reply.
A card for each letter, so you can see at a glance who has replied and who hasn't — without holding it all in your head.
The real deadlines, built from your own dates.
Computed from the date of death and registration date you provide — or, prepared ahead, laid out as a countdown from the day, for the date to be written in. Never a generic list of windows that may not apply.
A real letter, the register that tracks it, the calendar built from your dates.
The same render a real order produces — specimen, fictional household.
specimen · fictional household — the Pemberton-Walsh household is invented; every page is the production builder's real output
In this specimen the File counted ten certified copies of the death certificate — one for each of the four letters, one for the solicitor, one to keep at home, four spare — at £12.50 each: £125.00 in all. Yours is counted the same way, from the institutions you name.
certificate fee — the register office's own fee, last reviewed September 2026
The letters are addressed from a directory of 60 institutions whose bereavement postal address was read from their own page, each row dated (most recently 17 September 2026); 26 more are recorded as publishing no postal address, so their letter carries the route they do publish instead of a guessed address.

How it works.
Whose File this is — someone who has died, or your own household prepared ahead — then the banks, insurers and pensions to be written to — around ten minutes. Saves as you go.
Every letter is read through by a person before release — not queued straight from your answers to your inbox.
Your letters, acknowledgement cards and calendar arrive as a PDF — within one business day — ready to sign. Your printed copy follows in the post — allow up to 10 working days; it's usually sooner. The Handover Guide — the 33-page companion — comes with it.
Why £49?
The Family Handover Kit is £29 on its own. The File is the Kit plus the part that takes the longest to do by hand — writing out a separate, correctly-addressed letter for every institution, tracking who's replied, and working out the real deadlines from the actual dates. Prepared ahead, that work is done before it is ever needed.
That's £20 more than the Kit alone.
The Kit, plus a ready-to-sign letter for every institution you name, its acknowledgement card, and a deadline calendar built from your own dates.
Nothing you start with is wasted. If you already bought The Family Handover Kit within the last 30 days, its £29 counts in full toward this — same email at checkout, applies by itself.

One letter per institution
Bank, pension and insurer — each with its own acknowledgement card, ready to sign.

The six-month calendar
Every deadline, computed from your dates.
specimen · fictional household — every page of the £29 Kit is in the File, unchanged; these two are the £20.
Who this pack is for.
The Kit told you who to call. The File is what you actually send them. The next step once the calls are made.
Every bank, insurer and pension named gets its own letter, not one generic template copied out by hand.
A structured place to track who's been told, what they asked for, and what's still owed a reply. The acknowledgement cards and calendar keep it from living in your head.
The letters your family will need, written and addressed now, so they only have to date and sign. If you have the Kit, the banks, pensions and insurers you named there carry across.
A kit, a file, a dossier.
A kit is what you're given; a file is what's been assembled; a dossier is what's kept current.
The Family Handover File provides structured notification letters and organisational documents to help administer an estate. It does not constitute legal, tax, financial, or probate advice.
